I am a first-year graduate student pursuing M.Sc. in Computer Science at TU Delft, the Netherlands. I hold a B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from Amrita University, India. My research focuses on building smart ecosystems combining the Internet of Things with Machine Learning and Data Science. In the information age, there are different sources around us that generate data. I develop platforms and devices that can log, visualize and take decisions based on such data.
I started research on this topic from the third year of my undergraduate study. I have developed solutions for energy-monitoring, smart transport, and real-time safety systems combining IoT with Machine Learning.
My current research ranges from design and development of better communication protocols for IoT to implementing fast algorithms to perform search and data manipulation on big data.
My passion is to creatively invent new, robust, cost-effective digital platforms to solve challenging problems.
In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music (Instrumental, Indian Classical fusions, Cover songs) and meditate. I write answers on Quora in topics related to Internet of Things and other random topics. Through my blog , I share interesting things that I encounter while learning new things.

Combined Locality Sensitive Hashing with Big Data Environments of Hadoop and Apache Spark to search large log files of network packet data faster.This work was carried out as part of the Malware Analysis and Detection using Sandboxing and Machine Learning project funded by IBM Shared University Research program under the supervision of Dr. T. Senthil Kumar, Associate Professor, Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore.
My responsibilities were to design and develop scalable prototypes for real world problems in energy and transportation sectors. The core design principle I used was to employ Internet of Things for data acquisition and Predictive Analytics or Machine Learning algorithms for decision-making.My work was supervised by Dr. P. Bagavathi Sivakumar, Associate Professor, Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, India.
During this internship, I used Texas Instruments' CC3200 launchpad as a sensor node and connected it to the internet using the Message Queueing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol. The data acquired from the sensor node was stored on MySQL database. I also developed a mini-web application that uses Google Charts API to visualize the data acquired. This sensor node is developed as part of the "Wireless Sensor Network enabled earlier real-time detection of spoilage in stored grains" projected funded by the Dept. of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. under the DST Reference No.: IDP/IND/22/2012-G Dt.:25.09.2013.
Secured the communication between Arduino was implemented using the Texas Instruments' CC2500 RF module in Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) mode. To ensure data integrity and reliability, I used the XXTEA encryption method to secure the communication between the Arduino boards. The security of the device was tested against phishing attacks where an intruder sensor node attacks while operating at the same frequency or has the encryption key. The results of this test are part of the paper titled "An Attack Perceptive Approach for Reliable and Secure Wireless Connectivity between Medical Devices in Public Environment".
